Privacy notice

This notice explains what the Settlement Zero website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms:
- Founding Circle form: your name, email, general location, how you might be involved, your preferred pathway, relocation and timing preferences, and any optional answers about housing, skills, certifications, capital range, motivation and concerns.
- Partner and contact form: your name, email, optional organisation, the topic and your message.
- With each submission: the date and time, the version of the consent wording you agreed to, and a random submission id used to prevent duplicates.
What we do not collect
- We do not use advertising cookies or advertising features of Google Analytics.
- We do not store your IP address with your submission.
- We do not ask for sensitive personal information such as health, financial account or identity documents.
- Fonts and all other site files are served from our own hosting. The only outside script is Google Analytics (below).
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and buttons are used, so we can improve the site. It records pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, and events such as starting or sending a form. It never receives what you type into a form.
In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off and Google receives only cookieless measurements. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics does not load at all. Google's own use of this data is described in its privacy policy.
Why we use it
We never sell your information or share it with anyone outside the Settlement Zero founding team, except service providers who store it for us (below) or where the law requires.
- To understand the skills, constraints and interest of people who might take part in Settlement Zero.
- To contact you about Site 001 research, project updates and, if you asked, Pioneer planning.
- To reply to partner, media and general inquiries.
Where it is kept
The website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. Form submissions are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in a United States multi-region location. Google processes this data on our behalf. The hosting service keeps standard technical request logs for security and reliability.
How long we keep it
We keep submissions while the Founding Circle is active and review them at least once a year. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so within 30 days.
